The Universal Connector project has been successfully completed, establishing itself as a strategic solution for advancing digitalization and interoperability across industrial environments. Coordinated by Smartech Cluster and funded through the AEI program of Spain’s Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the initiative brought together CADTECH (CT Solutions), Innovasturias, SoftNeos, and Blue Room Innovation.

Following an initial phase focused on demonstrating the feasibility of connecting ERP and PLM systems, the second phase took the solution a step further. It validated its ability to integrate with multiple combinations of systems widely used across Spanish industry, while incorporating advanced technologies such as Blockchain, OCR, and the Digital Product Passport (DPP).

The result is a universal, agile connector that operates independently of the systems it connects, dramatically reducing implementation costs and deployment times. This technical independence eliminates the need for custom developments, simplifies system integrations, and ensures a single, consistent source of data across platforms.

In the project’s summary video, CT Solutions Services Director Ana López highlights how this solution “adapts to any environment without requiring changes to existing systems, improving traceability, eliminating errors, and strengthening security across industries as diverse as fashion, food, and electronics.”

Beyond operational improvements, the integration of the Digital Product Passport introduces a new level of transparency and traceability throughout the entire product lifecycle, aligning with the sustainability and circularity requirements driving Industry 4.0.

Ultimately, Universal Connector represents a significant step toward a more connected, efficient, and future-ready industrial ecosystem.
